BIOS - mind of it's own ???

  "Navy" N17 TWO
I have a little glitch with my BIOS.

Most of the time my computer is fine, others I get the BIOS freezing at the point of detecting IDE Drives.

On other occasions it goes as far as loading the operating system and trying to boot from the wrong hard disk.

When I enter CMOS to check the settings - the settings can be changed - how does the computer change these settings on its own after I have saved & exit before restarting.

It happens at random - which leaves it even more frustrating

On another note, the computer will load Windows, but only pick up one of my hard disks - also a random occurance.
When I check my CMOS the boot priority has been changed - how? :S

Never thought of that - cheers :)

Any other possibilities to look into?
This particular PC is usually on for days at a time - would the mobo battery still need replaced?
