So I have had a few french cars before my first being a 1.2 8v clio which had a small issues with the bonnet catch falling on the motorway. After that I got hold of a 106 GTI which didn't have those issues but always seemed to need my attention, well I had that I had a brief encounter with a 106 Rallye also before moving over to the German market.
Both the GTI and the Rallye
So onto the clio how it was when I picked it up
So from what I can gather and the invoices I have the cars has a full gaz suspension set up, simota enclosed induction kit, miltec centre section not to sure on the back box and a short shifter. I know it has the cup spoiler but this must of been added at a later date.
My first job was to tackle a issue with the washer jets, as I had fitted mist jets to my 106 I bought some to fit to the clio for £5 it's a easy and cheap job to do.
But with nothing to say the cambelt or dephaser had been done this was first on my list, que the chaps at Renault Wolverhampton (membership paying off already) I source all the parts I needed cheaper then I could get quoted anywhere else. Then it was off to the chaps that used to do all the work on my GTI and Rallye to fit it all coming in at just over £600 for parts and labour I don't think it was too bad.
After a few weeks and payday I treated myself to two new tyres up front and decide the engine bay could do with something to make it look a little fresher. Using the search function I came across a thread about DIY induction kits need I say anymore.
You will have to excuse the cable tie and copper pipe I like to put things on as soon as they arrive if I've got the time it was a quick fix.
A day later this arrived and was added.
I have already ordered some red hose to replace the blue, not to sure on the positioning of the catch can but it's fits quite nicely. Well that's it for the moment as for plans I need new rear disc and pads soon and it needs refreshing inside some how I am open to suggestion on this.
