Black 182 with a hint of red

So I have had a few french cars before my first being a 1.2 8v clio which had a small issues with the bonnet catch falling on the motorway. After that I got hold of a 106 GTI which didn't have those issues but always seemed to need my attention, well I had that I had a brief encounter with a 106 Rallye also before moving over to the German market.

Both the GTI and the Rallye

So onto the clio how it was when I picked it up

So from what I can gather and the invoices I have the cars has a full gaz suspension set up, simota enclosed induction kit, miltec centre section not to sure on the back box and a short shifter. I know it has the cup spoiler but this must of been added at a later date.

My first job was to tackle a issue with the washer jets, as I had fitted mist jets to my 106 I bought some to fit to the clio for £5 it's a easy and cheap job to do.

But with nothing to say the cambelt or dephaser had been done this was first on my list, que the chaps at Renault Wolverhampton (membership paying off already) I source all the parts I needed cheaper then I could get quoted anywhere else. Then it was off to the chaps that used to do all the work on my GTI and Rallye to fit it all coming in at just over £600 for parts and labour I don't think it was too bad.

After a few weeks and payday I treated myself to two new tyres up front and decide the engine bay could do with something to make it look a little fresher. Using the search function I came across a thread about DIY induction kits need I say anymore.

You will have to excuse the cable tie and copper pipe I like to put things on as soon as they arrive if I've got the time it was a quick fix.

A day later this arrived and was added.

I have already ordered some red hose to replace the blue, not to sure on the positioning of the catch can but it's fits quite nicely. Well that's it for the moment as for plans I need new rear disc and pads soon and it needs refreshing inside some how I am open to suggestion on this.

get this off trader? i think i was looking at this before i bought mine! Nice BG not keen on those stickers though! ;)

I did, and the stickers are all gone that was the first thing I did when I got home.

Looks like a good start. Have you a link to the catch can?

Heres a link to the catch can. I didn't pay that for it though I paid 11.89+postage I think seller may of made a slight error when re-listing the ad.

Small update today when I got home I had a package waiting. The last bit of the silicone hose to match the induction hose had turned up. It looks as if it's lose on the left port in the picture but it's not going anywhere .

I had a few hours to pass today so decide to try and wrap a few items with the left overs from my mountain bike. Everything came off with ease and no clips were damaged, and for a first attempt in the car I don't think it came out to bad.

Now i do like that. I did think about getting a series 1 rallye but they hold there value a lot more then the series 2 so I ended up with that instead. You can't beat the 205 wheels in white and the 2 inch pugsport, I think most of them well have seen that at some point in their lives I know mine did.

Cheers pal! I did love that car. It went through loads of stages, had loads of different wheels and color combinations. Spent a lot of its time on steelies in white and this one ran a standard exhaust for a while. :) loved it!

Just a few updates, I've been ordering the normal bits everyone does, and looking into getting some brembo calipers and saying up my options. I have in my possession a RS Tuner just waiting for the fastchip website to come back online.

So...

The brakes have got a lick of red paint.

I had this to contend with at the rear.

Clean plates courtesy of fancy plates. Finally I've fitted silver vision in all the indicators, and gave the lights a quick polish.

Things still to come I am getting some BG bullets with red 2.0 16v courtesy of spray shack through the group buy on here. I have an engine cover to be sprayed up and as already mentioned I am looking into the brembos, brackets, and braided hose in the next couple of months.

Small update I am about half way with where I want to be with the engine bay, just need to get some new gaskets and find the right paint before take the top inlet off to be painted up. I think the brilliant audi red was a good match to the silcone hose and the addition of the battery cover helps to tidy it all up.

Like a bit of black/red combo. I did a black/red theme on my old BG.

My advise is keep the red bits subtle otherwise it could look tacky.

Thats it really just waiting on some smooth bullets from the spray shack group buy that have red text and i am done with the red, do you have any pics of yours?

Thanks, dude.

looking good mate you got a link to the induction hoses or the battery cover by any chance? cheers

Heres the battrey cover:

Number plate tape is nasty stuff to get rid of especially when there is 3 lines of it like your rear one.
I noticed you could do with arch liners and the front under cover.
