Black BT home hub

  BMW Z4 3.0i
I'm going to get broadband at home in November. What's wrong with the home-hub? I was planning on going for the BT package number 3, should I not be doing this?

Yeah I agree. I got a black one the other day spent 8 hours on the phone to BT trying to sort it out as it didnt work.

I've had hardly any problems with mine . when it was running slow, it was due to a virus that I had. Occasionally cuts out and needs re booting , but that's more down to my antiquated computer. As someone who is not too technical, it was a doddle to set up, although only use it for ethernet connection to desktop pc and Hub phone. Will look at possibly getting a lap top in the near future so will see how it copes with it then.

my hub has done well its lasted longer then i expected but bt customer service is direr its the most expensive package an they now port throttle which makes fileshareing crawl  ive given up

im leaveing them as soon as my contract is up i fell for the upto 8mb services an regraded incureing a new contract then the service change in their favour i dont even get 5mb anymore

mine disconects an requires a reboot ocassionly

Well like i said in my previous post i'm very happy with mine at the moment[still early days though] i'm running it on a brand new HP laptop, with no problems.

The real test will be next week, when i try to get my old imac running wireless.

I have both, they sent white when i ordered black so sent me a black one when i complained and they never asked for the white one back.

mines being a buggar the wireless keeps droping an it keeps disconecting the broadband conection ive got a wire out just incase :dapprove: its time to replace it

Well everything was great for a week, with very fast internet connection.

Now it is utter w**k, slow as f**k, and the broadband keeps shutting down

I had the hh for well over a year now, its very stable imo and I have BT Vision as well and it all runs great. Also the hubphone is great as well.

ive been through 3 home hubs... all absolutely crap. I hate BT and the s**t name they have gave Thomson... making them create such an appauling piece of kif

Thomson used to make some brilliant routers/modems etc... probably costed them right down

Can't wait to get rid of BT they are a bunch of robbing b******s

i agree im moveing when my contracts up i never expected great things from my hub its just anoying on well i have to go out tomorrow an replace it

It's been ok today [touches wood] when i phoned them last night they said that after a week they test the line, and this can cause problems with the internet connection and internet speed.
