Black Trim ect

Every week i wash the clio and ever 2-3 weeks i seal and wax with EGP and Orange Crush but, evertime after washing all the black trim i.e the rubber seals around the window screen, side windows, some parts on the wipers like the big are cover, basically every thing black goes dull and white, its not got was on because i make sure im carefull when applying.

I have to then once washed go over everything back with Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel, altough this is good when applied i still have to go through the same routine once washed agian.

Its a long process. Everything else on the market that will with stand washs?

No is the answer.

But there is a solution. At some stage, you have got wax/sealent/polish on these black plastics and something like CG will just cover it and make it look tidy. But like you say, just as with waxes and sealents, this will wash away slowly but surely.

You need to actually clean the contaminants off and out of the plastics and rubbers first, then seal in shine. Have a read through the peanut butter thread, as this lists ideas to get rid of the wax residues.

Yeah i have, Ive only got crunchy peanut butter at the min lol, so it will be a little gritty.

So if i rub all my black trim down with peanut butter, wipe off then seal it with the Trim Gel?

How about wd40? i got loads that?

WD40 works, but needs washing down afterwards because it's quite greasey (surprise surprise WD40 is greasey lol).

I would go with one of those magic sponges from JML as they work very well . . . somehow!!!

Another cover up product, not saying it's a bad product (as I know it isn't) but you need to clean, then protect.
