after furious bidding and spending more than i wouldve liked to i got this off Ebay last night:

thing is the bay in the Williams is a bit grubby and id like to clean it all up before the shinny sh*te goes on!

im sure plenty of you guys have done this before and could give me some pointers!

one more thing, on a quick look this morning it seems theres some oil on top off and around the power steering resevoir. there are a lot of noises from the pump when parking so i suppose there could be a leak in the system or something but as far as i knew they all sounded like that! i know my old valver did!

suggestions please :D

I had a squeaky steering system and got some Slick 50 from Motorworld. Did the job a treat. Also was noisy when it is running low on fluid and this stuff does the job.

Getting my engine steam cleaned early next week, i would have thought that would be the best start and short of taking the engine out, probably the easiest.

power steering. do a search there are a few good pointers about this. best thing is to empty out the the fluid in the pot snd fill it up with slick 50 they then bleed the system like it says in the haynes manual.

as for your engine i bet you want it looking like this!!!

best things to use are engine degreser and wd40. its a lot work mate but its worth it in the end.

how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking?

Paul

ended up paying £213 for the engine bits, not the right time to be buying things like that really but i dont suppose they come up that often!

yeah, got a tad carried away! kept picturing a shiney engine and couldnt hold myself back!

i dont think its that expensive, to get all the pieces fabricated would cost a fair bit plus i dont have to wait!
