the clios gone....
on an extended holiday.
We came round to insuring myself back on the megane last week and whilst we did it I was doing riads clio insurance. I stupidly entered him as a girl on the comparison website and the price was 1500. Happy to live with that... On the phone to admiral and it dawned that he had been entered as a girl... hearts actually sank.. £5000.
now I'm not about to start ranting but its not fair.... we were gutted, i was more gutted for him, he's spent money/time and effort on the car for then to be quoted that. the system stinks. We later found a quote for 3437 but the company was so pikey i ended up telling the cockney mouth on the phone where to go.
so, with the new insurance rules whereby if a cars not insured it has to be sorned we were left with no option. I said he should sell it and get an MX5... but it all boils down again to insurance (that one years no claim is mental on cost difference).
So with riad unprepared to sell we set about moving the clio to a private little welsh hideaway. its going to sit here for a good while and be resurrected back to the future style in a year!
I gave it one last blast on the way over, riad followed, the yozza roaring its tits off. People may laugh for getting all emotional over a crappy french hatch but bothered? I did the majority of the driving in the car and from it being rebuilt at BTM, to smashing lbrenchs new 500 to the wales run where it shocked pretty much everyone I realised why the car (echoed by this site) is so popular and respected. And throughout owning it, nothing has gone wrong.... bar the indicator falling off on the way to wales this weekend! haha.
Theres every chance we'll pull it out on a trailer to do anglesey this summer or trade plate it there, cough...Its far from the end of the road, just a typical TeamAriane hiccup.
we'll meet again Blo0dDiamond, until then you say hidden in your crypt, asleep under a blanket in Wales
