Bloody immobiliser!!!!!

This bloody immobiliser has been doin my nut for a week now.

Problem: Immobiliser not working, key wont unlock the door or immobilise the car.

Things done:

New chip board that is normally next to the light on the roof dash (infra-red blip thing)
Realised that there was a metal connection missing from point 1 on the clip to the chip board... so i replaced it.

Batteries are fine in the key fob, all the fuses are or...


Any ideas on what i can do now?

Does my key need resetting if so how?

is there anything else i can do?

This is not my week and i need my clio to drive.

Its a mark 1 clio 1998 manufacturers immobiliser.


Any comment greatly appreciated.

m8 im aving the same problem but key will open mine , but wen tring to start it , immmobiliser light is on , and wen i turn the key nothing at all .....

yours could be faulty key , but sounds more like link from uch to ecu.
check the relays in the engine fuse board for water ingress , check the small relays and swap them over and try again.
also could be the car battery , check it out and the terminals / earths are correct and secure.
