Blower motor headache!

Hi,

This is a weird one, blower not working on any setting 1.5 dci on a 04 plate, checked resistor, shorted out and all that jazz, fuses okay etc etc.

So took out motor, connected it straight to a battery.... spun up a treat, check voltage at connector, 12v (14v whilst engine running)!

Now the bit that's wrecking my head, plug fan back in, no voltage through wires!

Unplug again, voltage back, fan works on an aux supply!

Can anyone help?

Hei Scott,

Check the earth connection to see if it is ok.You can check that by using a 10W bulb on the connection, just using a multimeter can trick you.
If all is ok ,try to squeez a bit the connector.If you encounter any problems feel free to send PM.

Hi,
Funnily enough, just before I read this I cut some of the outer cable off the wire soldiered another wire to it and then bolted to the wing bolt and boom kicked straight back into life!

I think it was one of those couldn't see the wood for the trees moments but thanks anyway!
