Blowers not working and Whinning noise

Today my blowers stopped working on my 182. The temperature control still lights up and all control seem to work, the blowers just dont blow any air not matter what i press.

I popped the bonnet and there is a very high pitched noise coming from a part of the engine. I have attached a graphic of the part that seems to be making the noise. Its hard to know for sure if this is making the noise becasue it veyr high pitched and hard to pinpoint.

Can anyone tell me what the part I have pointed out does, and if it could be causing the problem with my blowers not working?

Cheers :)

when you turn the key in the ignition but dont start the car, it can always be heard. It's the stepper motor in there. perfectly normal.

Blowers could be a few things.

Its just before I turn the ignition. WHen I turn the engine on and put my ear close to the thottle body I can still hear it. Looking around the forum it looks like others have asked the question and it seems to be normal.

Just need to find out why my blowers are not working now. Suggestions are pointing towards the resistor pack, will probably need to book it into the local garage to get looked at though which costs a minimum one hour charge :.(

They all whine don't worry about it. The blower will be the rheostat, £100 for the part from renault and about 20 mins to fit.
