blue smoke from exhaust?

  Clio 197 F1
what is it? on a car that i should be getting, has quite a lot of it at startup n after a few good revs, it goes.

anything in particular it might be?

i have read up on it and seems to be that it is oil burning with the petrol mixture...

how could it be getting in there?

  53 Clio's & counting
if it goes away after few revs or mins its valve stem seals,if it still a haze all the time its rings both expensive, rings means rebiuld, valve stems means head off

  No more clio's for me!

stem seals.

leaks into chambers when the engine is stopped then burns off when its running

if it were rings or bore etc it would do it underload and would pressurise the crankcase.

get a leakdown test done at a local garage to confirm.

its about 10 hrs plus parts. depending on the number of guides or seals that need doing.

Could be the head gasket. Basically it could be anything that's causing your car to burn oil.

blue smoke - stay away! just dont get it simple, if you dont know this about cars you need to take someone with you when you buy one mate! Or get reputable independant report done on it!
