Blue the new silver

Finally had my car in to Renault this morning to get the washer jet ball replaced!!!! Don’t think they had to rev it quite that much tho’ just to move it forward a few feet..:@ the bloke went red when he saw me watching and apologised “his foot slipped, sorry” yeah right!!! Much prefer it when the receptionist drive’s it she sssoooo careful!! great service done in 20 mins!!!

They told me that silver 172’s are not common anymore and that blue is the new common colour these days….in fact they very rarely get a silver one in anymore

Its all those dam cups cheapening the colour, thats what it is ;)

I saw a rare Red Mk1 172 yesterday on the M40. Very nice.

I still dont see any other blue ones around here. I see a couple of silver, and one black from time to time.

Anyway mike, what makes you think Im sitting watching the boards. ;) DOH

I was engrosed in the shaving thread in off topic, and replying to some PMs.

Lunch time now, I think Ill get back to watching the Hulk.

When I got my Silver one - March 2002 apparently the garages were taking more orders for the Red than the silver. I certainly see more silver ones about tho.

Think he ment new car sales....when I bought my car I had the choice of six....2 silver, 2 red and 2 blue...I wanted black but fell in love with the silver :D

I see on a regular basis, 2 blacks, 2 silvers and a cup...and a lush silver 16v m reg nnnnnnniiiiiiicccccccccccceeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!:D

Thanks :D First one I drove was silver.

As Ive said before though, all the colours look good on it.

Yep, it sure does paddy. Must get me a Cup splitter.

Wish Id thought about it when I booked it in earlier. May give the dealer a call.

k-tec are doing a carbon-fibre splitter a la Cup - should be ready by the end of this month. Cost will be lower than the Renault splitter, but theres just a chance that they might make it a bit max power-ish in which case Id still get the nice subtle Renault one.

It can, but the current one is fine as far as Im concerned. Im just not big on carbon fibre. Bling bling for cars :D

Hey Paddy, u can just see my shining beacon of silverness peeking over the top of ur brothel red machine.....adding a certain class to the shot.

:p

DEalers always blag about whats the "rarest" colour, probably to help shift certain colours, eg if theyve got loads of silver ones in theyll say that silver is least popular or that everyones ordering black, u gets me?
There was whole row of new blue cars, mostly Clios, waiting for collection so I dodnt think that was the case!!!!!

Those wheels looked really nice mike. Ive always had a thing for wheels with a darker finish to them, Impreza P1, CTR and Cup wheels are all just lovely!!!:D

This is turning into a 172 appreciation thread!!!

Arent 75% of cars sold blue? I think the only reason people think there are more silver cars is that shades of silver dont differ as much as shades of blue. You could park 10 totally different blues together and notice the difference, I wouldnt have thought that would be the case with Silver?

Neither did I like them Jim! After about 300 miles I changed mine for OZ Super Ts which pretty much suit most nice looking cars. The standard Conti tyres werent very grippy either, so they had to go as well.

Im picky with wheels that i like. My Cups Turinis are lush, Oz superleggrs (sp)? are lovely too and theres anotherone i like. thats about it really.
