I've got a MOTO HF850 on its way from eBay (not the best kit I imagine, with not having a screen, but £25 delivered is all I wanted to pay and I wanted a discreet kit). Now from looking at Fubar's excellent site I know how to wire it into the 172,..

But can people advise me of the best place to mount the mic and speaker?

I was thinking of mounting the speaker behind the centre console fascia (to the left of the drivers left leg behind the slats), and the mic by the A pillar.

I've read that the best place to mount the mic is by the rear view mirror,.. Is this true in peoples experiences?

Cheers, John.

Installed my Moto HF850 today, took over an hour cos I was fiddling about like a t1t.

Here's how it looks:

I've rung a few people from it and they've not known I was using it. Yet to use it while driving (the whole point I guess). So far it's the best £25 I've ever spent. Ideally I would have liked an LCD display, but really I wanted this to be as discrete as possible.

The voice dialling seems to work well too on my n95, and the connection is seemless upon switching the ignition on.
