Bolt in circlip in phase 1 172 gearbox?

Might have had a rebuilt box fitted at some point in its life...

My JB3 (MK1) with bolt in diff has a 1991 gearbox casing code, but its got a brand new bolt in diff when It was bought from Renault (as a Service Exchange unit)

ah right. might be worth keeping as a spare then :) not sure if mine has the bolt in circlip thats in the car or not.

Yeah Id keep it.....if a new box is bought on a service exhange basis, I think they are all re-built with the latest components through Renault. Considering the bolt in setup replaced the circlip design its probably why they use it!
