boosted yellow mk1

  dan's cast offs.
Would have to double check chamber volume but with the 197 head you should be about the same cr as the meg with a standard headgasket.

I'm sure it'll be ok people have run a similar set up to this before and had good results I'll only be running low boost anyway

Will be fine with that set up but with standard gasket you'd find it will be more responsive. Meg gasket drops compression by almost 0.5 ish fwir.

It's having my own concoction of random renault parts that should leave me with a pretty strong engine able to do 250 bhp +
Low mileage 172 ph1 bottom end
225 head gasket
Low mileage 197 head
172 cams
250 inlet
172 ph1 throttle body
225 injectors
250 fuel rail
WTF

Are they actually all interchangeable / mix-and-match-able??!

That shell looks so good, though. I want.

250 inlet looks pretty smart even if it does precious little other than help it clear the bonnet

The Volvo non power steering tensioner cup mount and cup alternator with a 5 rib belt I think simplifies and neatens the engine up a lot

I've made a decision with this project wasn't a easy decision but it's seems to be my only option at the moment if I want to drive the car this year I got to abandon the turbo temporarily I'm going to put it together naturally aspirated for now as I'm do desperate to get it on the road and enjoy it before I go traveling again and have to put it into storage

So the new engine spec will be a standard 172 engine with 197 cams and a V6 air cleaner with a 182 manifold all the bits I need are here or about to be delivered so there should be quite alot of progress over the next few weeks hopefully to completion

As far as the turbo conversion goes I'm going to get another shell fit the turbo engine get a exhaust system made boost pipes made finish the omex loom get the conversion just right before swapping it all into the yellow car without it being off the road too long

Only a little progress today cleaned off my block for a kick of paint and modified my inlet to remove the coil pack holder hopefully this will clear the rain catcher witch I'm adamant I want to keep
