Boot Bike Rack?

So I've been searching around on the forum, but can only seem to find posts useful for a Roof Rack.

Are there any boot racks that will allow even just a single bike? I'd rather get a boot rack rather than a roof rack.

Obviously I don't want it to damage the paint etc, but I can use cloths etc!

Yes there are bike carriers for the boot. they clip in the top of the lid near the hinge and at the bottom. I don,t think they will fit your car has a boot spoiler on.

Hmm, after look they seem pretty pants and a bit dodgy for a clio, I guess roof racks are the way forwards!

The only safe way to use a rear mounted rack is to take the spoiler off.

Ahh ok, that'll look lovely like that!

I'll get some roof racks, just priced up in Halfrauds £189 with a bike carrier & locks - not too bad, can't seem to find it THAT much cheaper elsewhere (I get 4% quidco so that's £7.60, plus being local it's easier), anyone have suggestions as to the best place to get them?

Exactly this, plus with Thule ones you are at least generally Guaranteed they will fit on the "next car" provided you get a fitting kit, unlike Halfords etc!

I think my lot were somewhere in the region of £300 :rasp: You've got to add 2 bike holders to that yet

They are epic though. They simply work. It's brilliant.

Knackered after a hard ride through muddy forests, you need only yourself really (bit safer with a friend helping if you're worn out) to plonk it in place.

edit: Those halfords ones look properly flimsy and 'options' to buy with them include 'bike securing straps' (ratchet straps).

Also, my Thule kit has been tested upto and including AutoBahn cruising velocities with 2 bikes on the roof They are solid.
