boot build vs quality

Hey all

Im looking to finish of my sound install and all i have left to do is install my split system for the rear of the car. However i dont want to put them into the boot sill, cause i dont like how it looks (all messy like), so was thinking of building them into the boot. But now my question is will this play a large role on the quality of my sound? Because im really into a decent sq setup and was wondering if having my splits in the boot would cause like a "muffled" sound effect, instead of a nice clear sound i would usually get with the placed in the sill?

:)

If your going for true HI FI sound reproduction, (comp class sound quality), then the true purpose of rear speakers is simply rear fill, (used to imitate reflection from the main sound stage up front), so should be placed in the listening area not the boot, (extremely hard to get right).....

If your simply enquiring about clarity, then again the speakers should be in the listening area....

If your planning on playing your system with the boot open, (car park disco, local meet showing off or maybe demo'ing), then the speakers should be placed in the boot, (this allows full range reproduction from the boot only)....

Depending on headunit & system specs you could opt for one or the other & use the fader control to allow suitable adjustment to match your particular needs at a given time, (ie; playing with boot open, carrying rear seat passengers or driving alone)....

Cheers for that mate, so all in all the splits in the boot is a kind of no no. Wont be doing the car park disco or demo'ing kind of stuff. Just closed doors, on the road and drooling when i hear my set up (hopefully not so much drooling). So besides the boot sill, any other ideas wher i could locate the rear splits?

I don't own a Clio mate, simply select a location that the speakers will fit into & perform correctly from....

could be, rear quarters, rear doors, parcel shelf etc etc....
