bought a clio

  clio 1.2 16v,??
 got myself a clio 1.2 16v dynamique thing, awesome power (lol) i bought it for the mpg makes a change from getting single figures, going to be my daily driver as i have a r34 skyliner gt-r as my toy. my clio has got alloys, but i cant really drive a standard car no matter how slow, so how low so i can still get over a speed bump on 17" wheels, just theres a hump on the way into work :dapprove: will 60mm drop be ok?
thought about getting "universal fit dtm" mirrors with back plates, easy to fit? and what exhaust you guys/girls recommend for my 1.2 beast to sound nice?

cheers.

cars a 51 plate.

  clio 1.2 16v,??
man its a beast compared to the liner,

the clio is pretty good actualy it handles well for what it is i suppose, no i can't knock it,

shall get some springs and shocks on order then.

anyone know where i can get dtm mirrors what work with the elec adjust?

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
i had just 60mm springs on my old car, didn't do the car must good to be honest, I personally (from experience) would recommend getting shocks as well (to be honest places you order from may well recommend this too)

  clio 1.2 16v,??
yea im getting the shocks aswell, i would normally go coilovers but for a daily driver a bit ott??

thanks, anyone have exhaust ideas??
Theres a huge selection depend what you want looks etc wise.
As for suspension you can go as low as any kit out there lets you realy without problems. Fred on heres down 100mm on custom colovers with 17's and he has no trouble with speed bumps then again I don't know how slow he goes.
I'd definatly recomend coilover or least matching springs and dampers though. Your looking at about £450 for coilovers which let you choice your height upto about 70mm front and back and I can highly recomend.
Have you done anything to the Skyline?

Demon Tweeks sell the DTM wing mirrors though about £50 I think they are.

  clio 1.2 16v,??
skyline has usual stuff, filter exhaust, rims, lowerd, boost guage/controller, dv etc.

was just looking for a exhaust that sounded ok, bought one years ago for a honda i had and it was far to loud and sounded crap lol.

the mirrors from deamon tweeks the electrical ones, i seen some on ebay for 30 but there manual dunno if i can fit theese? cos on manual mirrors dont they have a stick tht comes into the car so you can adjust them?

wouldn't bother with wing mirrors, they dont look right imo.
my mate got them on his clio and they dont fit properly they overhang the base plates

heres pics of mine on 60mm springs, gotta get dampers soon, shes a bit 'twitchy' sometimes. and you can just about see the exhaust, I can get another pic if you want, it's a Peco 4" JP1, sounds completely chav i kno but i think it actualy suits the rear really well when its cut in, under the bumper it looks super-naff!

It is pretty loud yeah, especially without back seats, but now they're back in and sound deadening under 'em its alot better. It certainly dnt sound like a 1.2 should any more, but i'm pleased with it any way, after waitin 5 weeks to get it from Demon Tweeks!!!:S

Depends, winter is the best time to buy, normally after the first snow flurries ooop north.

Keep an eye out for one of J3ned's "breaking 172 Cup" threads ;)

I fitted the exhaust (which is stainless cat back i forgot to mention £230 i think) then got a guy i kno who does custom exhausts to make me a new bracket to lift it up and cut it in, did it for £20 which was great i think?!

No way that's dropped 60 mm ?!?? looks like it's flying

are they still settling ?

I was thinking the same, mines lower and its only 40mm apex on gmax shocks. Like both cars though but yeah the blue one defo needs lowered!!

TBH i've never been convinced the rear is -60mm but i'm pretty sure the front is. Don't know if the fact that its on a hill affects its stance much?
The little black slitter bit thats attatched to the bottom of the front bumper isn't on because I took it off to paint it, put it back on after lowering and a pothole ate it the same day:(

  clio 1.2 16v,??
any pics of -60mm drop clio then?? ordering supsention tuesday so be good to know if i should go for the 30mm, or 60mm set iv seen.

cheers
