Bought a driveshaft, CV boot woes

  Clio 172
Hi guys

Bought a driveshaft off a trader on here. It arrived quickly, but when it did, the cv boot was hanging off, and just cable tied on.

Is that generally a problem? Iv heard they are a b**ch to get back on, is it worth getting it replaced for another one?

If its not broken, pop it back on and stick a jubilee clip on, far better than a cable tie

Cable ties are common "fixes" on Renault driveshafts but they rarely hold. As above, use a decent jubilee clip but I prefer the proper steel bands (granted though, not an on the driveway/DIY application)

Cheers guys. I just thought once it's off it's off. great, ill cut the cable tie off and replace it!

Mick, do the proper bands need a specific tool or something? If so ill probably take it to a garage with a band and give them beer monies to fit it.
