Why don't manufacturers paint them as standard?

And can anyone recommend a black paint for them and does existing paint need to be removed or can it be painted over?

manufacture probably dont paint them to save on cost and to begin with they dont look to bad.

as for paint your best bet is to get a can of high temp spray of ebay for about £7 delivered.
