Brake Cooling

  TrackCar & F30 330d
I just want to know what the best things to buy to set up brake cooling.

Where can i get the Plastic tubes (Not the silver tubing)

And i take it the fog surrounds are just standard ones.

Yoz sells Brake Ducts but I'm sure they require a lot of cutting and jiggling about to get to sit right so I'd just get a Couple of Trumpets and Piping and run through to the Wheel Arch

Greeny_172 has a CAF from his Foglight and it fits a treat so may be worth a PM to find out exactly what size he ordered

I removed my fogs and liners, and I too am looking at ducting to further improve cooling. I guess a bit of trial and error will be needed buying the right sized inlets to fit the right sized ducting etc. etc.

EDIT: This seems like a better choice, as it should fit inside the hole perfectly?

The reason the Cup race cars have the brake ducting that they do is so as the air goes around the curvature of the car the piece that sticks out on the outer edges of the ducts catches the air and forces it inwards towards the brakes, I'm not sore how effective CAF's are.

All I know is I boiled Castrol SRF, so a cold air feed to the calipers has got to help. Just removing the fogs and arch liners helped massively :)

Thanks for the advice. I run Carbone Lorraine pads, Brembo Max Discs, braided hoses, and Castrol SRF.

The next step was to get some ducting. I like the look of the Cup racer ducts, but i'm not so keep on gashing my bumper to get them to fix.
Adamio's look pretty cool. Might have a go at doing that one. Where did you get the mesh? Halfrauds? B&Q?

I used Black Halfords Mesh. If you take off the bumper, remove the foglights and surrounds. Cut the mesh so it's only a couple of mm bigger than the foglight hole and it'll stay in place when you put the surround back on.

I'm running Brembo Max Discs, Performance Friction Pads, Braided Lines and AP Racing Fluid. Be interesting to see how they are at Brands on the 27th.
