Brake disc removal *Quick Responce Ideal*

  BMW M3
Right.....

Been trying to change my discs and have taken all the nuts, screws and caliper off and all that need to come off is the actual disc. But it wont budge!!! Dont really know how much force to apply but it really want to stay put.

Anyone got any tips on how to get it off or have i missed something.

Need the car soon too!!!

Thanks

Jus

you removed the 2 torw screws holding the disc on????

if so you need to SMACK it hard with a large hammer

  BMW M3
yeah... done that. So its just a case of eating some porrige and getting to work on it !! Wont damage it etc... So piece of wood on back + large hammer = off!!

Right cheers Fred

WD40 round the centre helps also (in the holes, leave for 1hr)

Hammer ususlly does the trick.

Remember to put some copper slip on the inside of the replacement disc....that should help if they have to come off in the future.

I bought a rubber mallet for exactly this job, . A normal hammer will do the job but you'll be deaf and have seriously annoyed neighbours by the time you've finished.

Remember to keep rotating the disc 180 degrees as you hit it otherwise you'll get nowhere fast!

Thanks guys.

Will remember for the future. Took some hammering though, and very deaf lol!!
When i drove off i had driven over my spanner and had dragged it across the ground and i sh*te myself thinking it was the braking system. lol

Car up and running again.

Thanks
