Brake Discs

is it ok to just replace the discs without replacing the pads? the pads i have, have loads of life left but the discs dont lol

not recomended as the pads will me mis-shappen and wont fit well against the disc and can grind/dammage them.

just dont want to spend a fortune.

think im gonna go for EBC standard Vented Discs and possibly K-tec's Kevlar pads?

anyone else got any other suggestions for a total of around £60-70??

Just surface rust on the discs? Take it only happens when the cars been standing for a while? Simple solution, drive the fecker more often lol! Nothing to worry about anyway.

nah m8 its driven every day lol. it doesnt help that my wheels are only a week or 2 old in hypersilver so it reali shows through

EBC pads are w**k and too be honest there it is not worth going for vented/grooved discs.

I found standard discs and Mintex Extreme pads to be the best combo. Stay away from EBC green stuff pds they're w**k.

If you are on a budget go for ferodo premiers.

do you or does anyone know the rough price for standard discs? from renault etc?

i was looking at the plain discs from ebc not the vented as i also dont think they much else but make an annoying noise when braking!

I've just ordered Black Diamond Combo discs, ds 2500 pads and braided lines. Should be an improvement, I hope!

black diamond are awful!!!!!!!!! dont use them. they warp and are made of monkey metal! go brembo there way better.

Black dimond stuffs very good better than many an OE type stuff takes the temps way better I know a Clio racer swears by them he kept wearing disks and them fading when testing abroad in very high temps.
