Can i just top up my brake fluid with DOT4 ????:S I read mike@rentech guide about how most 172/182s have low brake fluid and want to make sure mine is topped up

thanks

Check your pads mate, with all 8 pads worn 100% it should sit at the minimum mark. (Should). Theres a reason it'll be low, your pads might be worn.

Yeah DOT4's the stuff though, unless you've had it replaced with other stuff in the past - don't mix brake fluids.

Loads of garages do it, but it doesn't make sense, don't top-up brake fluid.

just fitted new front pads and it bearly touches the minumum mark, still on rear pads @ 25k. I've never had the brake fluid changed like so i might just bang some dot4 in. what do u think?

I'd check your rear pads just for the sake of it - they'll be alright though. Top-up your fluid, go bed your new pads in and see what the levels at.
60-10 60-10 60-10 etc

Its worth changing your fluid aswell when your doing pads etc, so much easier, wheels off bla bla bla.
