Brake fluid

I know nothing about this so forgive the dumb questions..

Which dot brake fluid is best to use on a 172? People always say dot5.1 etc but is it a case of higher number syndrome where just because it's a higher number than dot4 they think it's better?

I noticed Yozzasport only sold dot4 on the site.

Dot 4 is fine

No point using dot 5.1, means you have to change it every few months and there is no advantage less you're running a race car.

pretty much what I thought, another friend was saying go for 4 too.

we use DOT5.1 now as DOT4 castrol is discontinued

no, every 2years is fine (every 12months if you're a track goer)
