Brake Pads

Looks like I will be in need of some new brake pads soon, any recomendations as to what to go for? Want something better than OEM for 'fast' road use. Yes i know my car isnt the quickest but i drive it f**king hard

Ferrodo FDB-845s should cope with "Fast Road Use" (plus they come with new guide pins bolts) only £17.99 from Halfrauds and a doddle to fit. If you think you are going to kill them then the Pagids ^^ are good.

i used pagid, but to be honest wasnt that much better than standard, all a bit of a placebo with lots of people i think. The fact is that the renault brake set up is pretty spot on as standard, if its feeling a bit unresponsive, try having them bled it might help. Just go for the halfords pads to start with, if you really arent impressed remember for next time and try something else

and yes i know i'm a hypocryte having just had a big brake kit fitted but it was a fookin bargain lol

Don't get the Halfords ones, spend a couple of quid more and get the Ferrodo ones as they come supplied with 4 guide pin bolts (as mentioned above) which need to be changed too.

I use my car on track, on several tracks didn't have any fade with fast road pads, and they are ALOT better then Ferodo DS2000 pads, and so ALOT better than std

but is he gonna use it on the track? I doubt it tbh, (feel free to prove me wrong mate ;)) i'm just speaking from experience with the lower modelled clios, having been there done that and bought the t-shirt, ferodos may be better than the pagids so give them a crack. Better brake fluid would prob be a better mod though, as they put shitty fluid in the bog standard clios, compared to the renault sports, and that should make the biggest difference.

fair dos mate, as i said i never tracked my car with them on, so couldnt tell you about their resilliance to brake fade etc (never go fast enough in a 1.2 to get any to be honest lol) i just didnt find them much better. but by all means my opinion isnt the be all and end all try them for yourself, i know yozza and fred recommend the brembo max disc, pagid max pad combo so if they recommend it it must be good.

well i've practically killed OEM pads in just 6 months... (6000miles) Was thinking a better pad will put up with hard use better.

Y0z and fred recommendteh pagid BLUE pad, which is pagid's race pad, the Pagid fast road is their fast road use pad

for the 1.2 they go for pagid max, and brembo max. i personally thought it wasnt all it was meant to be, and having replaced them with a ktr style bigger brake conversion it stops considerably better.

when the pads were taken off, they were glazed though which probably accounts for why i thought they were so crap.

DS2500's are more resistanct to fade but there £60 I think. Plus there queeky from cold and not that good from cold.

I'd stick with stock FDB 845 for the money personally.
