Brake pedal switch???

Hi just a quick question I know it's been covered before numerous times, I have a 172 and after driving for a short while the serv and traction control light comes on. But goes off after turning car off and restarting
i was having a look above the brake pedal and there is a white connector that goes into a switch, coming off the same loom is a purple plug that fits into same switch, does anybody know what this is?? Thanks

for if u have cruise control, same sort of switch goes onto other pedal
