Not an MOT issue, also not an immediate big issue.
The seal keeps dust and water out, over time the piston will corrode and the next time you change your pads you either won't be able to push the piston back in or when you push it in it will damage the main seal.
What car? Its easy to solve but you will most likely need the caliper off the car together with a new seal kit.
