Brake problem!!

When i brake, the brakes are making a wierd noise like they are rubbing together. What could this mean? how long do brakes and pads normally last on a 1.2.

Would the rear drums be a problem or is it just the front brakes? The car is lowered would that affect it?

Sounds like your brake pads are metal to metal on the disc, get it jacked up and get the front wheels off. If its been left for a while you'll probably have knackered the disc anyway.

I'd check your pads and discs before your drums they're good for 100k easy with normal driving.
