Brakes are squeeeeekiiiing!!!How do I stop it

Hi,

Just changed the discs and pads on my 172. Got normal discs with Ferrodo pads. They have developed a very high pitched squeek. Have I done something wrong or is it just the hard pads? Will it go away or do I have to cure it somehow?? All I have to do it touch the stop peddle a tiny bit and they start howling.

Thanks,

Mike.

Cheers peeps. Stopping fine although I haven't put them through their paces yet. They aren't squeeking a bit, I have to do the window up as it hurts my ears!! Will give them a bit longer, nearly got them bedded in, then I can warm them up a bit!!!!!!

You want to try performance friction pads. I always make sure I have got my music on loud. As if I can't hear it, I can't get embarrassed when everyone looks round. I just tell myself they are looking at the car. Lol
