it couldnt go around bedford any faster than a 172.
Both in standard form the V6 would be faster.

If you want an opinion on this ask SteveV6 as hes had a 172, MK1 V6 and a MK2 V6 and hell tell you the same.
You may be right but I was quoting indepenent testing rather than opinion;)

Got mine from Norwich Union Direct, cost a tad over £600.
ours is with Norwich Union Direct as well - perhaps they like the Mk2 Vee !!:D

Holly f**k a MK2 is cheaper to insure for me than a MK1!

Your Price is £959.90

I really really hate you now Dai!

My partner cannot get a quote from Tesco online for a vee, however the will quote her on a Imported GTR R33 V-spec but not on a Mk1 V6 Clio, that is really messed up?

I was with Tesco when I had my 172 - I thought theyd be competitive on the V6. I think they quoted me £1,200 with a huge excess. They seem to have a problem with the Vee.

Confused.com were shocking for me on the 172, the only decent ones were Tesco, Privilege and Direct Line and they are quoting over £1000.
How much over a grand?
£1090 I think it was, 25 with 6 years NCB.

They obviously DIDNT see my at Spa ! LOL !

;)

  Mark 1 Clio V6

V6 all the way.

Ive already seen 4 182s and that number will only increase.

Only seen my mk1 V6.

Seen a couple of mk2s but only my mk1.

If you want a thing of beauty and exclusivity it must be the V6.

People say it is a slouch, but it goes from 0-60 in 6 seconds. That is fast enough for every day road use IMO. It also handles fine on the road, so unless you are wanting a track car or need a four seater car it will be far superior to anything else at or around the same price.

The 182 is IMO not even at the races!

my V6 handles very well, totally standard too. sure its RWD and if i wanted to i could swing the ass round but ive taken it up many country roads at mad speeds and its handled extremely well.

IMO the press talk sh1t - the mk1 handles fine if you know how to drive. go get one and you WONT look back.

  Cup 172

Get a 182, as it it probably quicker, cheaper to run and insure and handles better, is more practical, has the same toys and costs alot less, and comes with 3 year warranty which you will need.

V6 has alot of character though and everyone looks at them, but its not fast enough, unless you get a Mk2 V6 which is.

hmmm also something to consider is the service costs my mate told me his brakes were shot and reno wanted to charge him 1500 quid for a brake reline that is serious sh*t my freind im talkin about the veeee 6 obviously

  Yaris Hybrid

As has been said before the 182 is as quick, more practical, cheaper to run plus Tiff preferred the Mk1 172 to the V6 let alone the massively improved 182.

The warranty is worth its weight in gold and Id rather have a new car over a second hand one anyday.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..

..wether its a mk1v or a 182 are you gona tune it? ..new 182 for me cheaper and easier to tune, love the looks of the mk2v but the mk1 doesnt do it for me, didnt clarkson say hed have a mk2v in his list of top ten cars to own..smug barnet header that he is. go on buy the mk2v, u tried liverpool victoria?

i had this dilema a cpl of weeks back mate.

Mk1 VEEEEEEEEEEE or 3 month old 182 for £10k

I chose the 182 and am gonna keep the extra pennies i saved for when the Mk2 has depreciated a bit.

EVO magazine tested the mk1 vee at 5.8 to 60. even if it was the 6.4 as reno state, its still quicker than the 182, so how you reckon the 182 is quicker?

wrx-172 on here acheived a 14.5 1/4 mile in his V6 too so magazine figures really are nothing to compare to.

the V6 has bundles of torque that the 182 doesnt have, its no good having BHP if you have no torque to reach the power higher in the rev range, you will need to use gear selection too carefully in a 182 or a V6 will trounce you.

IMO, different cars and not really to be compared.

anyway to help your decision id advise driving both first, thats the only way you will know what you would be happier with.
