I think remapping for 30bhp is ignoring the scientific foundations of our universe.

LOL

Epic thread.

L.A.D 30bhp remaps. Coming soon.

Note: They may break your car, due to engine internals being manufactured from cheese or something.

Thats built for a purpose, thats built for performance, a 1200cc clio, is not built for performance, how can you compare those two?
a 172 isn't built form performance though realy its built for a purpose just like a 1.2 ok you don't get 200hp a as easy as a 172 would but say 150hp a liter would take similar work level just final outputs would be different

Ha by all means tune a car, but you need some foundation, a 1.2 clio is not a good foundation for car tuning, if you've got a 172 upwards then fair play go mad! Every car has its limits sunshine!
gains per hp maybe small but tunning is usually a waste anyway
I said you can't do much, and I'm asking if theres really any point? Save your money and get a 172!
why get a 172 there still not that quick

+2

i think the disagreement has sort of took over the thread imo lol seems lyk there has been some :banghead: going on lol

I'd love to see a 150 or 200hp 1.2 ok would cost a fortune but would be interesting particulaly if it was a DIY not a tunning car job

To be fair they're far far faster than a 1.2 though 6 seconds to 60 quicker than the 1.2.

Depends how you define quick i supose, i'd say a 182 is quick however when i first went in one i wasn't blow away by the pace.

However when i 1st went on the back of a Suzuki GSXR 750 I s**t one. They're realy quick!

It would be cheaper to buy a 172/182 anyway, I'd have to spend a lot of money to get my 1.2 anywhere near your 172s! And a 1.2 will never look as good as a 172/182! Unless you spend £1200 getting a widearched V6 bodykit (y)

the only way you could get or 1.2 near as fast as a 172 is buy putting a 172 engine in it. No amount of money spent on a 1.2 engine will make the same power output as a 172.

I can't believe nobody mentioned the standard intake system on the 1.2 is crap, it is on my d7f 1.2 8v anyway. A full bloody U-Bend before the throttle body, that's very restrictive. And the CAF is made from like a cotton material, can't see how that can be better than the usual plastic tubing on most cars. If you had the space to sort the bend out, and got a good feed of air to the airbox with a panel filter in, at the very least it would breathe better.
