Well, finished fitting the brembo's today, took a while but got there in the end, few complications!, they were hte ones of Matt Willis's trophy! Must just say thanks very much to him for his honesty the whole time!!
Bit of a storyboard for you,
When they arrived, looking a little bit tired and shitted up :
The shall we say well worn discs! ( matt had his moneys worth, these should be grooved!!!)
So, scraped all the s**t out best i could, then got some neat TFR and gave them a bath!
Quick wet & dry, all the holes blanked off accordingly!
Then gave them a good wipe over with some panel wipe before a good few coats of high build primer :
Left to harden for a while, then top coat, hammerite smooth red (bit of a blurry pic) :
Then i had some new stickers made up, £5 the pair, stuck them on, then plenty of coats of lacquer over the stickers!
The new discs, £260 had to have them though!! :
Then final fit time, took a bit of playing about, they came with wheel spacers, which i didnt need on the cup, had to have some 10MM spacers made up at the local smithy, freebie! , also had to get new caliper bolts which was fun, getting the correct thread for the hub, as mine werent long enough with the spacers, courtesy of a friend of a friend in the end! Brake pads are borrowed, didnt want to spend £80 on a set from godspeed, so went to the local motor factors, who sorted me a set from a jaguar! same fitment, £22 much better! will replace them for uprated if everything works ok! :
On the car behind the wheel :
The rears, removed them and painted them with the same paint to match :
Done 15 miles so far, nothings fell off! which is good!!!
