Broadband help

  Monaco Blue 172 (56/468)
Ok, a bit of a long story but some advice would be appriciated. On 28th Nov my dad changed our phone line and broadband supplier from BT to Talktalk. We were sent a letter from BT saying that all services they provided had now stopped. Talktalk have phoned me to say that the MAC code that BT gave me is out of date and that I need to ring them for a new one but then it will take 10-15 days for them to start supplying my internet with them. My problem is that at the moment I have broadband working fine and neither BT or Talktalk seem to know, can anyone explain how this might be possible and should I call BT and get a MAC code to change to Talktalk or just cancel my broadband package with Talktalk and carry on as I am.

Thanks.

Depends on whether you start getting billed or not!! My boss cancelled his broadband with NTL several years ago, however he is still getting a 4mb connection and hasn't been billed since his cancellation.

I wouldn't like to say! News stories of old ladies getting charged thousands in back pay for their gas bill springs to mind!

Your broadband should still be live with BT untill you use your MAC code. MAC codes are valid for 30 days. Just call BT and ask them for another one and then give that to Talk Talk. Dont forget when your live with Talk Talk to make sure BT have cancelled your account or else you may still get charged.
