broadband speed upgrade...

ok we have adsl at home, had it about 2 years, been on 512k as we were told thats as fast as we can have...

dude few doors up has 2mbit

got my mum to phone bt (first mistake i made) any way they told her oh yes you should be on a faster speed, sign up another 12month contract and we will sort it, it will be faster by thursday (last thursday)

anyway our phone lines have been down for over a week and just come back on and its still at 512k...

now i didnt think seeing as we had been with them 2 years why we would have to sign up to another 12month contract?? we are paying the same price for 512k as we will be for the faster connection... anyway the speed is still 512k...

mum called back today and he said "over the next 10 days we will mess about with the speed to find the best for you, that might not be the fastest but the best you will use..." ok WTF!??

so, so far its still 512k and sometime in the next 10 days it may go faster??

i just want the fastest i can get and now.... is this bloke talking s**t?? and without me knowing this morning he made my mum accept remote assistance on her pc downstairs for him to do something? wtf is that all about?

anyway any help?

No, MaxDSL works out the highest speed you can get over the first 10 days..


Highest speed == maximum stability is what it aims for.

As above MaxDSL adjusts over a self training period.

They ALWAYS make you sign another 12 month contract if your regrading.
Just another way of keeping ur business !

Unless your so fed up with BT with s**t you take them to court and win (oh i made them pay hehe)
