broke down yesterday??

was sitting at a set of traffic lights then my revs starting increasing till it hit 4k then cut out. couldnt get it started again until about 3 or 4 minutes then i drove it for about 2 hours and no problems atall.

any ideas guys?

the same thing happened again today although never cut out managed to keep it going, anyone any ideas its really annoying me?

The not starting part sounds like a poss faulty TDC sensor / poor connection... never experienced it causing it to rev up tho.

Have you checked the engine wiring loom for chaffing on the ECU cover??

chaffing?? i thought of the tdc sensor but i was thinking the fuel filter may be clogged as i ran it pretty low yesterday by accident i thought i ran out of fuel at first until i realised i must now have since its happened another 2 times

The ECU cover rubs through on the wiring loom..causes alll sorts of problems...EML light on, power loss etc. Also worth checking are the 3 black relays in the engine bay fusebox.. starter relay, injection computer supply relay and cant remember the other 1. Theyre quite common for corrosion on the terminals and causing probs.
