I assume you've already checked the fuse!! Need to figure out if its the switch thats the problem or the fan then just chuck one from a scrappies in. Not heard of anyone elses going on a mk2 though.

Don't be a girl - my old pug 309 GTi had no heater and I used to drive 25 miles to work in the snow in just a t-shirt and shirt

Though I am getting soft in my old age... Lol

I doubt you would be able to fix it, it will probably be a sealed thing you cant take apart. Assuming its not a fuse or a bad connection all you have to do is take the wiper arm off, then take off part of the windscreen cowl panel under the window on the drivers side and then whip off the 3 or 4 bolts securing the blower in. Then fit a new one. Mine has gone a bit weedy as I normally have the fan on all the time while im driving.

I think my heater has gone too. How long does it take for the heater to feel warm?
I have to drive for a couple of miles before car heats up. AC on as well.

Think thats normal for Clio's tbh. I work 4 miles away and by the time I get there on some mornings it has only just got warm.

your best to keep it off untill the engines up to temperature anyway because its taking the heat from your cooling system so means your engine will take longer to get up to temperature.

this on your clio2 fred???
most common heater inop faults on the clio2 are the resistor pack under the o/s scuttle trim!!!!

  Lionel Richie
yeah on my clio, i have to drive at 100mph just to get enough airflow through the car to blow warm air in!!! LOL

resistor pack hey??? hum, i'll have a look

cant miss it when you remove the drivers scuttle!!!!!!!
price not sure as dont have dialocrap (dialogys) on my pc but taking a guess i would say £40-50

Alrite fred maybe somthing i can help You on for a change instead of you helping me lol. I had this problem a few weeks ago...checked all fuses and that lil plug thing that youve got a picture up of so i went to a garage...they took the plastic bit off below my window and underneath is a medium size black box in like a round shape, they gave that a smack with the mallet and hey presto on come the heaters...just the fan got jammed!

Hope this helps

i think thats what happened, my fan has jammed and then burn't out the resistor (its been knackered since last winter lol, but i've only recently been bothered to fix it!!)

  1.6 focus zetec....
lol probably beacause this is the coldest winter in ages and you've started to feel it...ignore the PM aswell

thats the part fred - also common for motor to knock the resistor out --- give me you vehicle details etc + type of heating and will get u a price on the parts as im at work!!

  Lionel Richie
erm, its got the recyle button too

apparently the part number is 7701050736, and none of the dealers round here have one!! c**t

  2.0 175dci rs meggy
well i have come up with a part # for the resistor of 7701050900 - 55.00 all in
and motor 7701050899 - 103.83 all in

they have given you the wrong part number as the 7701050736 is for a clio with normal heating not recycled heating!!

  Lionel Richie
the bloke on the phone said there are 2 possibles

1 is a valeo (£26odd)
1 is Denso? (£50odd)

mine's a valeo

  2.0 175dci rs meggy
i have had this problem before due to the normal heat and recycled heat - but see what he supplys!!!! always go for the same make ie valeo 4 valeo etc - u will prob find a denso will not fit any way - but im positive that if you have recycled heat (the button on panel) u will want the 77 01 05 900

The resistor is 68+vat, but check the connections to the fan, you can get your hand down the gap.

There is a choice on them, so best check with your local dealer, if it a BEHR resistor then they are approx 25 from GSF.

thought u might of experinced this problem mike with the resistors supplied my reno regarding the recycled edition

  EvoVIII, Gsxr, BMW M3
I think mine might be fucked too, I drive 16 miles to college every morning and by the time I get there the heater is only just blowing out warmish air, it never really gets hot like it used to.

  1.6 focus zetec....
That might be the thermostat but then again thats just going by what i read on here 'cos i know fcuk all about cars

Fred - what was the fix BTW?

My motor sounds grumbly - then dies when on 1 bar - and cant get it back working OK.

Can someone get me the part numbers for the motor/fan and the resistor pack for a 2002 172 Air Con

Thanks.

My gf's is almost the same, hers is a 2002 172 and the blowers have just stopped. Could do with a rough price and pic where to find the resistor! anyone?! :D

Do a search in my blog i may be the motor. If not the resistor pack is £85.

Can't beat a good mk1 heater. I would be pissed if mine didnt work in this heat. Good luck mate.
