Broken exterior door handle

So my drivers side exterior door handle packed in today, I can open it from the inside fine. Noticed it started to feel weird last week as you had to like open it all the way and at the very last bit it clicked open, so I knew it was on its way out. Is it an easy DIY fix like a spring? Thanks alot

Take the door card off, you should see the mechanism, the fingers connected to the handle that grab onto and pull the pole to release the door may have slipped up the pole, you just need to make it so the pole sits higher in the handles fingers, so it opens the door as soon as you pull it rather than it being all the way at the top.
