Broken front spring and why higher now

A few days back, one of my front springs broke, bang, clatter, clatter and all that, about half a coil lay by the wayside.

But funny thing is.....

The broken spring side, now sits considerably higher than otherside, (about 2 cm), I would of expected that this side would be lower with half a coil missing?

I'm suspecting there must be something else, any ideas?

No its nothing else its very common,i lost a piece off one of my front springs made it sit a tiny bit higher especially if its the offside (road camber),when i fitted my prolines i found a piece had broken off the other side within 2 months of the first side breaking
Yes i drove it round for a couple of months while i saved for the eibachs with no problems

Is the spring sitting in the strut correctly? I would be getting that looked at ASAP.
