Bucket seat advice

  Tungy
Right I have decided to get some bucket seats for my car. I have never had any before so what I need to know is what I should look for.

I am thinking I ought to go for reclining buckets as I am only going to be using it on the road therefore these should be more comfy?

However, as I've never had any I am just guessing and perhaps normal type bucket seats will be more comfier than I think? The thing is they don't look like they offer much lumbar support and aren't adjustable where as recliners are.

Opinions please.

Thanks Brad

as sam suggests try before you buy...

i got some corbeau sprints which are fixed backs and they are suprisingly very comfy. the more you spend the better quality (and comfort) they will be

Daytonas are a good choice for recliners

I had Cobra Daytona's in my 182, fantastic. Comfy, supportive, lower driving position (lower than the Trophy Recaro's as the Cobra's have a custom subframe). You can see them in the for sale thread, Rich Cup is selling my old car. Having tried the Trophy Recaro's and the Cobra's, I'd take the Cobra's every time (but the Recaro's do look much nicer). Apparently capital seating are prob the cheapest place to buy.

ull be supprised at how supportive a decent (by decent i dont mean ure halfords type steel frame and cloth cover) fixed bucket can be. Ihave not found a reclining bucket which is more comfy than the Cobra Imola seat. In fact, i havn't found a standard car seat which is more comfy either.

I'd say go for recliners, if you ever go on a LONG trip you'll wanna get into the most comfy possition possiable.... buckets are good for them on the track... but if you drive 300 miles non stop you'll wanna have that fredom.

Brad: Cheers for the help guys. Nipped into halfrauds today and they had a few seats to sit in. I think there were about 4 fixed back seats and 2 recliners, one being the cobra daytonas. WHich I must say were deffinately the comfiest! The fixed back ones were suprisingly comfy too, but I think I need the freedom of recliners as it will be mostly or all for road use.

Right at the minute it's between blue cobra daytona's and red sparco torino's :)

Has anyone tried the sparco torino 2 seats? I think I'm either going to be buying a set of these in red off someone or a set of cobra daytona's in blue. Would like to know which is comfier/more supportive. And I have to try and think which colour would suit my car better.
