Bucket seats and lack of airbags

  Chocolate Bar™

also, which light will actually come on ?

thanks in advance,

You will have the 'SERV' and the airbag symbol lights come on together, renault can use their diagnostics equipment to tell the computer not to recognise certain airbags, not sure how much this would cost but some people have used a resistor in the circuit but I don't know how reliable that is. Hope that helps.

yeah cheers :)

i just thought that if i actually did go for buckets and a part retrim over a full retrim, i doubt i could look at the error light all the time. especially because they're really bright in the dark. other concern was that if i actually got a problem i wouldnt know lol

didnt realise there was already a thread of this - my fault didnt search properly.

Its not too bad with the SERV light tbh. I thought it would really piss me off but it hasnt.

Resistor worked well when I did my steering wheel but there are a lot more wires under the seat so I dont know where to put the resistor.

Middo if the SERV light is on none of your airbags will work as its shuts them down because it thinks there a fault there. So best get that sorted out anyway.

You can just stick the resisters in the wiring and it will go off for good.
Renault can using the clip tell the UCH your car doesn't have airbags so it won't set the light off and this is the best option but might be trouble getting dealerships to agree to do it.
Having the aibags unplugged and the warning lights doesn't cause all the airbags to swicth off as people have proved.

^^ thats alright then :) as i could get the seats fitted and worry about the light at a later date. doubt i could get my local dealers to reprogram it. they hate the fact i changed my wheels for some aftermarket 15's (which renault UK paid some towards lol)

had a flat spot on one of my dynamique alloys. complained and said it was there when i bought it (which it was) and they caved and donated towards my new wheels.

i thought it was quite nice of them :)
