Buckets Vs Leather

What would you go for?

Ive got a valver and ive been offered some super cheap buckets and harneses but im not sure if thats the way to go. I was thinkin of savin for some leathers.

What would you do?

Oh yeah ive got standard phase 2 seats at the mo.

Urm depending on what buckets you get but most are uncomfortable! hehe

only the recliners that are comfortable really and thats only cos they are normal seats

I would still go for buckets personally tho just love the look of them look wicked from outside :)

your decision tho matey

Vix :)

I got Cobra sidewinders they are real comfy for everyday driving Any longer than about 3 hours tho and you start to feel it I would go buckets tho and like dogmaul said get em retrimed in leather

Ive had the same dilema, Ive got leather at the moment and was going to sell it for some buckets and strip the backs out. Glad i didnt, my mates just got buckets and i cant stay in his car for too long as my cheeks go numb, when ever anyone gets in my car they comment on how comfy the leather is and it is.

Leather all the way

Leather looks good but can be annoying, sticks to you in the summer and is cold in winter. I saw a re-trimmed valver at a southend meet once though and it looked fantastic, very classy, unlike the saggy, creased leather you get in original valvers these days which looks a bit delboy..

Those buckets seem good value though and its not like its hard to swap over if you get bored..

Are buckets uncomfortable after an hour of driving?

yes very ive been there! dont bother with fixed buckets in a road car! u can get reclining semi buckets which are a far better compramise.

i got monacos and god damn they hurt after a while, but the driving possision is much lower and the seats go ferther back, after an hour u start to loose feeling in your ass, then bout 30 mins later your thighs give up the will to live, but do a couple of long trips and you get used to it :D + you can go round corners quick and u dont come out of the seat :D

Easy soloution, buy the buckets, if they are too uncomphy, getting them that cheap it would be really easy to sell them on, on here and get your standard seats retrimmed in leather

Has everyone taken their back seats out with buckets then?

Also whats the rough price region for a leather re-trim?

I think you have to take the back seats out in order to mount the harnesses, as they use the mounting points from the original seat-belts.

Im after some buckets to replace my leather - dont care about comfort as I rarely do long journeys and im ard!!!

If you decide not to get those buckets and harnesses can you PM me where you are getting them from, what sort they are and at what price?

Cheers

Ive got monacos and 4 point harnesses, look really good imo. However they did give me a numb arse after a hour or more of driving, but Ive got used to them now and have no problems. You dont want to do John o Groats to Lands end but for day to day driving I love them. Get buckets and rip the back seats out and youll start to notice the performance increase from the weight youve ditched as well.:)

Go 4 saab seats, as they are as comfy as fook and they were voted one of the safest seats to be in, in a crash. Thats if they fit into your clio.

You can still install them wiht back seats in, but it will be hard to carry passengers, i took mine out for pod and was amazed at teh difference in speed - they are staying out
