Buddyclub P1 QF in 15inch ; ET35 or ET42 for 172Cup

  RS RIP
Hello all,

Thinking i might be interested in some lightweight wheels, Buddyclub is an affordable one (Volk prices are for Porschedrivers  ) I've looked at the P1 Qualifying ones, very light.

The 172 Cup has ET 38 does'nt it ?
After mailing the company who sells them in Holland he said the Buddyclub wheels i want come in ET34 - 4*100 - 7j , or ET 42 - 4*100 - 7j and the (excuse my English) centric axle/hub hole is 73 mm

What ET should i go for when lowered on H&R , not stupidly low, and is the hole-diameter correct ?

The clio centre bore is 60.1mm, so you can run spigot rings to take it down to that, so no probs there.

I would go for ET34, as they will give you a slightly wider track and no issues on rubbing on the rear shocks.

If you plan to run 195/50's then they are roughly 14mm in diameter smaller than 205/45/16's so even with a lower offset there should be no catching if you keep the ride height the same.

If possible, order 2 sets and post one to me please.....:)

Great info this Pepsi, thanks very usefull

Only thing is, the 172 Cup was already using a wider offset on the same 172 hubs to get the wider track. When going even wider will it not be "pushing it" , going even wider then the Turinis on the same hubs ? Maybe putting more strain/stress on the bearings/hubs ?

btw , i also informed in England http://www.buddyclubuk.com/ . I prefer using a Dutch company though for afterservice -reasons , and mailingcosts will kill any discount advantage for you/me

funny yeah, now i remeber you also wanting some , i 've done the search before i started this thread

No probs mate.

I see your point, but it is only a few mm, maybe not enough to make you feel a difference but I wouldnt go higher than the std offset purely incase you get rubbing on the inside of the arch/on the shock.

Technically it will put more stress on the hub, but withg the wheel being lighter anyways it wouldnt matter. But at the same time, I have mates running their cars on ET-20 and drifting on them for 10's of thousands of miles and not changed wheel bearings! Admittadly not on Renaults but even so, I doubg it will reduce the life of them.

Any chance of you buying me a set then?! haha!

:D i've been editing haha.. you did'nt get that yet i think !

Oy yes btw i'm running 195ers now on the Cup Turinis and even then some rubbing already from the bumperbracket, only thing rubbing.. when tyres are new its worse..

OK i should'nt be too worried about the bearing etc.. But the handling is the most important .. A couple of mm (only 5mm per side) could'nt hurt you say, allright

BUT ; when putting a small spacer in there (5/4mm) when going for ET 42 i would stay to original specs ... hmm what's wise ?

I want those wheels!!!
Need to save up though, get some pics up of them fitted!

Personally, I would go for the lower offset and not bother with spacers, but thats just me. Spacers are obviously safe but I would just prefer to not use them if possible.
