Budget car buffers. Help

R.J

  2003 1.2 16v Clio
hi guys, after washing my car yesterday i noticed how much it needs a good polish and wax to shine it up (i have a black clio) i went a bought some polish and wax but buffers are so expensive and im pretty tight on cash at the moment. although taking it to a car detailing specialist would be the best idea i would like to invest in a begginer buffer and learn how to do it myself!
so my question is are there any decent buffers for less than £60. not looking for anything fancy, just the cheapest buffer that will get my car looking nice again.
thanks guys!
also any tips on how to get a good finish would be great. thanks!

what about this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silverlin...ssories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3cd0427128
looks ideal for what i want but silverline arent exactly known for making good tools. last thing i bought made from silverline was a glue gun and that broke after 15mins!

I've had my silverline rotary for nearly 5 years. Maybe more than that!

Still going strong to date. The only downside with it, it's quite heavy so when i'm doing a Navara/Range Rover etc, it wears you out quickly!

The old line ''A rotary will damage your paint'' is nonsense. It won't damage the paint if you are sensible, use common sense and don't go at it like a bull in a china shop.

Take your time, read lots of online advice and practice lots!

DAS-6

That silverline is a rotary, you will ruin your paintwork with buffer trails and holograms and allsorts!

ah right. any specific brand on DAS-6 polishers? most of the ones on amazon/ebay are £100+ and there are alot of different brands.

I'm no polishing pro mate, far from it.

Those things ^^ are rubbish. Only good for removing normal car polish faster than you can by hand.

stick a post up in the detailing chat thread, someone will advise you properly.

I used a rotary and ive got really bad holograms on my bonnet... So I'm just talking from experience.

Well then you haven't used it properly.

I did these recently, not a hologram in sight.

RJ, unless you want to get serious, you're probably best finding a local enthusiast to polish it for done beer money

R.J, there's a girl on here in somerset, Emma (She's a southwest area rep) I'm sure she'd give your car a once over for some cash. She's quite handy with paintwork.

yeah that would be ideal. and for someone to polish my car up like the ones daniel has done i would be willing to pay more than beer money haha
just thought it would be cheaper to invest in a polisher and do it myself.

If you get stuck i'm in Bristol. You'd have to leave it with me all day though, I can't stand people watching me work! lol.
