budget replacement speakers

just ardered an ALpine 9831 with ipod adapeter so need to upgrade the speakers.

dont want to spend to much, any advice around £100 for all 4 speakers if poss

id stay away from Alpine Type S, unless your getting components, Pioneers are good in this price range

just want some 5 1/4 front components and 5 1/4 2ways for the rear

not in to this 6x9 in the shelf business, as i often need to take the shelf out.

ive got alpine type s coaxials as direct replacements, and would highly rate them. for the money (£35) i think theyre an excellent buy. its a bit of a shame you cant see them because they look cool with the titanium finish on the cone.

i always thought they sounded very harsh Middo, dont like the tweeter in them

the Type S components however are quite good VFM

i mean anythings gotta be better than standard speakers and standard HU spending £35 on rears and £50 on fronts...

ill agree the treble can be a little harsh, however because of the way they fit in a clio II the tweeter actually points downwards into the carpets so doesnt actually sound that harsh IMO.

for the RRP of £60ish i think you can get much better speakers like the inifinities, however for £35 (ebay price) i dont think theres anything that can replicate the sound they give off which is very nice for my music. i.e. system of a down / jimmy eat world type / my chemical romance etc.
