Budget tyres cold

i bought some rims over a year ago,
and they came with tyres, dont know the model but i can imagine theyre pretty budget,

they seem to have got quite bad lately,
go round a corner slightly more than slowly, and it gets very tail happy,
(they have plenty of tread, and at the right preasure)

this more often than not happens late at night,

i end up driving like a learner then its the slightest bit damp,

however my question is this, i know tyres work better when theyre hot,
as the compound softens giving better grip,

can this have the oppersite effect, aka when its a cold winter night,
the tyres harden up, giving less grip??

Budget tyres are brilliant. All I have to do to change lanes on roundabouts, is stick my right foot down, and watch as I understeer straight forwards.

Seriously though, mine are fecking dangerous in these weather conditions, I'm getting them changed asap

Sadly I am a student, and I seem to be forever replacing tyres, (had two blow out on a curb) for one reason and another! So I decided that all I could afford was budgets, but I must admit, I really do notice the difference!

I'v never had decent tyres before lol, cost me £25 a tyre on my clio and my 106 was £13 a tyre. Both cars have failed to stop me when it would really have been better if they did

dampers are fine as far as i know,

car goes down, then up again, doesnt wobble,

what more of a test can i do??

im glad im not the only one who has all hands on the steering wheel this time of year,

thing that confused me, was that it was pretty dry tonight,
but still had some back end twitch,

as apose to during the day, i can throw it into corners in the dry

ABS seems to be on all the time with Nankangs up front, and when I had the Conti's it was almost impossible to get abs on without hitting your head on the windscreen! and as for the back now! well its definitely tail happy, which TBH is just scary! Its beyond fun! No warning, it just steps out!

Nankangs !

Pmsl my brother has a seichento sporting with these all round. Its hillarious because the thing hardly goes above 40 mph but if you take it on the motorway its frightening to fook !
B roads as well, doing 55 coming round a long sweeping corner and suddenly the f**king things sideways! its only a thin metal box!

I wouldnt have budget tyres if they were free.

Can be dangerous in wet/cold weather

Most are made in the far east where the weather tends to be a bit warmer than here. You will probably get 1,000's and 1,000's of miles out of them, if you dont crash first.

My mrs bought a car and the seller said it had 4 new tyres on, witch it did. drive it in the rain and the slightest touch of the brakes and it would lock the front wheels. Changed the fronts to some second hand goodyears that were on 4mm and you could put the thing on its nose.

They really do make THAT much difference.

You get what you pay for

Bang on mate !

  mk2 slow. . .
i wrote my car off, had budget tyres on the front, then swapped them to the rear and put 2 brand new eagle f1's on the front. Made it very scary to drive! and as said wrote it off by loosing the back end when i came out of a roundabout with a slight dip in, jsut skipped my back end out. so pised off!
