Burning a f**k load of oil!!

Basically the car has gone through 4L of oil in 5000 miles..,

Doesn't seem to be leaking so what's causing it??
It's the 1.4 8v engine

Oil and oil filter were changed 5000 miles ago...
Engines done just under 90k now

As for smoke no sign of any :/

Could be as simple as oil filter or sump plug being a little loose from last service, im guessing its since the last service that you've had problems seen as you said you've used 4litres in 5k and it was serviced 5k ago . . .

I shall havevanother check of both of those again.. Though I haven't noticed any oil leaks from where car gets parked :/

It'll be obvious if it's burning oil, there will be blue smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Get someone to start it up from cold in the morning whilst you stand at the back and take a look, it might only be when it's cold that it's burning it.
