Burning Problems

Car  Punto/Clio GTT
wonder if anyone can help with this. When i download stuff, the file is perfect, the video is fine, the sound is fine, but like lately ALOT of my burns have had bad syncronisation.

Basically the speech/video is out by 2 seconds or so. It isnt the file as it plays perfect on the pc, its just something during the burn.

Its a brand new dvd drive. Do i need better software? Better discs? or isit something that i should be doing in options?

cheers

When you say you are burning discs, are you using something like Nero to convert and burn the video file ? Or is it literally just a burn

The only way things should be able to get out of sequence, if they play fine on your pc, is when it's converted. I'd change\update codecs if thats the case :)

Straight burn to disc, no convert. I got a dvd player downstairs that plays .avi's etc so its just a straight burn

About two years ago I had a problem with Nero introducing a sync issue on videos when burnt to DVD. I upgraded to the latest version and things were fine.

I take it your computer is pretty powerful?

Does the lip sync lag behind by a constant rate or does it get worse the further into the DVD you get?

it will be the software matey.

I have the same issue with Nero so if it doesnt work with Nero I use VSO ConvertXtoDVD which works perfectly.

Also i presume you are using .avi files

yea powerful pc.

it aint constant right the way through, itll just like lag, like go blocky and then the synch will be out.

on one burn it was start to finish though

yeah .avi's.

what software do people recommend? other than nero.

only needs to burn things, no convertor needed

When I mentioned download/burning I got my thread deleted and an infraction... wtf and this has been commented on by a mod. Where's the consistency?

why not just convert them to DVD. i know you have an avi player but there is obviously an issue will loosing sync when burning and VSO is what i use and it is perfect.

entire point of buying this multi format dvd player was to avoid converting to dvd as it takes too long. converting to dvd is last resort really. ill see if i can find some different software,

yeah i suppose lol. but i have always had to convert so i cant recomend anything else.

Also how do you burn them onto the DVD, via Data format?

just wondering if theres any burning softare that can check the synching of the video and audio before it finishes the burn? or is there an option for it to check the movie if its all perfect first?

hmm nope, will give that a try. just aquired dvdsanta so ill give that a blast too. cheers for the help n will let you know the outcome!

Like Ibanezman said . It'll be your codecs. Pm me with your email address and i'll email you some good codec packs .

Or search for angel potion codex , nimo codec pack or ffdshow .

^ but the files play ok on his PC and he isnt doing any converting just buring as a data file to DVD

I used to get this problem ages ago when i used DVD Santa so i just gave up in the end and didn't use it lol

Dvd santas for converting back to dvd files and takes forever and a day . If you want to convert avi to dvd the best and fastest is winAVI video convertor version 8 .

He doesn't say what version of nero he used that caused him problems . Nero 7 has some glitches . Version 6 is the one to use :)

yes this is true, at first a thught DVD Santa had an option to burn data directly to DVD but after closer inpspection this isnt the case.

i dont wanna convert though, just burn direct to dvd in avi/mpeg format

sorry mate i thought you had seen my revised post about dvd santa. it doesnt look like it has a data burn to dvd option.

i would try using the slowest speed possible with the software you have got first of all. also have tried just burning it in vista (dont laugh, it could work ;))
