Burpspeed - Oulton Park Race Photos

Taken from my blog ;)

Our last race of the season – hoping to continue the podium streak from the last two races. Qualifying went well, ending up 4th on the grid. The race however….didn’t go quite as well. On the first lap, another car hit ours and ended up spinning off, nearly taking out the rest of the pack behind us. We were then in a steady 4th position for the next 6-7 laps……until the engine let go. You’ll notice some smoke out of the back of the car, so it wasn’t looking good for a few laps, and eventually the inevitable happened. Retiring after 8 or so laps.
Overall a great season, with great progress throughout. Roll on 2012!

This was taken just before the incident. The saxo came across on Tony (as he was on the grass we think) and hit Tony TWICE, then spinning off. Sadly all out of view from me :(

Wait for the video, it's pretty scary how bad this could have been!

Cracking pics Dan

Skills for holding it with the saxo skirmish Tony, looked like it could've easily collected you aswell! Big shame about the DNF, burpspeed & Ian's clio were both on top form. Could easily been either of you on the podium today :D

Well personally, I was expecting the silver Civic to start pulling away, but Tony stuck right with him, even with the engine on it's last legs!

Didn't sound pretty when it went though.

Yea, the civic was looking pressured-locked up and got a bit squirrely into Knickerbrook a couple of times. Seems Tony was slowly tightening the thumbscrews!

Such a pisser they didn't get to see it through to the end :(

Nice pics mate.

Yea the Civic locked up into Shell Oils Hairpin several times and cut the chicane at knicerbrook once. Having 2 Clios behind you must be intimidating. we really were on for a good result, Tony was doing a great job there in 4th. The Civic in the lead at the time had a 1min success penalty to take and we could of jumped the silver Civic in the pitas as he was single driver (stops always take a bit longer weve seen)

Video footage is Scary, so close to a big accident

Great pics Dan - I was there too, snapping all day.
It'd have been good to bump into you - not that I've ever met you before or anything - but I could do with a few tips on my panning technique!
