I know this has been spoke about every hour on this forum but once again I'm asking a question about the RS tuner.

My brother bought one for his 197 about 4/5 months ago. I'm thinking of buying it from him but he is telling me that I need to buy 2 unlock licence's for it as I need to unlock it from his car and then lock it too mine. Is this true ??

Also if I buy it and get past all th unlocking business do I just jump on the RS tuner site and buy the map I want and then upload it to my car ??

RS tuner can only be unlocked to 1 car at a time. Once you unlock another car, the car before is locked again.

So I buy one licence for it to unlock it from my brothers 197 and when I plug it into my car it then locks to mine

Yup. Otherwise people could buy one and then do loads of peoples cars. It's a way of making money. Fair enough tbh.

I don't mind paying €55 for it but after some other topics I am not paying £200+ for it

i've always wondered, would your brother be able to use his code again so that its locked to his car again?
or would he have to buy another code?

I think that he would need to pay €55 again to unlock it from my car and back to his own but who knows, the fast chips website is so back to front and badly explained you need a to be a brain surgeon to understand it.

I'm looking to buy a second hand one as I have no idea how to buy one from the site
